The Brief
Barnardo’s asked us to create a new resource pack for their family caseworkers to use in different cases. This project had to include activity booklets that can be printed and reused while being neatly stored in an outer file case.

The Execution
Stage 1:
The involvement in this Project was a company-wide job. This process took over two years to complete with over 100 design hours. Once we had the design finalised it was brought through production where we had to find an effective way of finishing each booklet at a cost-effective price.
We also tested and trialled different types of ways to place each booklet to have a number to create a uniformed sequence in the case unit.

Stage 2:
We had a few challenges with this project one being the booklet itself and how it was display within the case. Originally, we had placed the booklets in a folder pocket and the folder would display a number from the sequence on the spine this would allow us to do a swine wire bound spine which we would glue into the folders. This would cost quote a lot of money to do so we had to go back and figure out a way to get to the goal of this project for a cheaper cost. After some brainstorming, we decided to change it to a Canadian half bind spine as this would allow us to keep the numbering throughout the resource packs. This also took a lot of handwork out of the processes lowering the cost for our client.

The Outcome
Our studio dedicated over 100 hours to crafting this project meticulously. Employing Litho printing technology, we ensured a high-quality print. To give the project a polished finish, we opted for a Canadian half-bind cover, seamlessly completing the cohesive sequence. But crafted a beautiful project winning us Silver is the best use of print in the Print Awards
